virtual Therapy in Pennsylvania & new jersey

Good therapy should not depend on your zip code or your schedule. Whether you are in Philadelphia, across the river in South Jersey, down the shore, or anywhere in between, virtual therapy through Better Connections offers the same quality of care as in-person sessions, from wherever feels most comfortable for you. Show up from your couch, your car, your home office. Comfort is part of the process

online therapy FOR PENNSYLVANIA RESIDENTs

We offer licensed virtual therapy for residents across Pennsylvania, including Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and everywhere in between. Whether you are in the city or further out, online therapy means you never have to factor in a commute. All of our services are available virtually, including EMDR therapy, couples therapy using the Gottman Method, family therapy, ADHD therapy, and individual therapy for trauma and attachment.

ONLINE THERAPY FOR NEW JERSEY RESIDENTS

We are fully licensed to provide virtual therapy across New Jersey, from South Jersey, Central Jersey (does it exist?), North Jersey, and down the Shore. If you are a New Jersey resident looking for a therapist who specializes in couples therapy, EMDR, ADHD, or family therapy, you do not have to limit yourself to what is available locally. Virtual sessions make it possible to work with the right therapist for you, regardless of where you are in the state

Individual, Couples, & family therapy from the comfort of home

Having your therapy sessions from home allows for all the benefits of therapy, while being in a comfortable and convenient space that works for you. By making therapy more accessible for residents of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, we can offer all of our therapy service plus added benefits

  • Show up in whatever makes you comfortable. Sweats, coffee, your favorite blanket. The couch is judgment-free.

  • No commute, no waiting room, no rearranging your whole day. Scheduling works around your life, not the other way around.

  • Access to a therapist who specializes in exactly what you need, even if there is no one like that near you.

  • When life gets busy or things come up, virtual sessions make it easier to stay consistent. And consistency is what actually creates change

Emma Carpenter LMFT

Hi, I’m Emma, and whether we meet in my Northern Liberties office or connect virtually from wherever you are in Pennsylvania or New Jersey, the work is the same. Direct, warm, practical, and built around what you actually need. Virtual sessions are how a lot of my clients prefer to work, and honestly, some of the best sessions I have ever had happened over a screen. If you are ready to get started, reach out for a free 15-minute consultation.

Frequently asked questions

  • You would not be the first person to take a session from their car, and you will not be the last. A lot of clients find that their parked car is actually one of the most private and distraction-free spaces they have. Other options include stepping outside, using a white noise app near the door, or booking a private room at a local library. We will never judge the location as long as you feel comfortable talking openly

  • Yes, and it works just as well as in person. Virtual EMDR uses the same bilateral stimulation techniques, adapted for the screen. Many clients actually find it easier to do trauma work from the comfort and privacy of their own space. If you are curious about whether virtual EMDR is right for you, we can talk through it during your free consultation

  • Absolutely. Plenty of clients do both depending on their schedule, their week, or just how they are feeling. Virtual one week, in person the next — whatever works best for you works for us. What matters most is that you keep showing up.

  • Yes. Research consistently shows that virtual therapy produces outcomes comparable to in-person sessions for most people and most concerns, including trauma work, couples therapy, ADHD therapy, and anxiety treatment. Some clients actually find it easier to open up from the comfort of their own space. The format is different. The work is the same
