Providing modern day therapy for modern day issues throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey

DO YOU EVER FEEL LIKE…

You’re being held back by the voice in your head that says you’re never enough?

You can picture the kind of relationship you want but can’t seem to get it?

The changes in your life are overwhelming and you can’t find the balance?

Millennial Therapist in Philadelphia

Hi, I’m Emma, your Philadelphia based therapist

Your experience of life and relationships feeling harder than they should is common

You’re feeling overwhelmed and disconnected—from yourself and from the relationships that matter most to you. In today’s fast-paced, high-pressure world, it’s easy to lose touch. Juggling responsibilities, relationships, career, self-care, and everything in between can leave you feeling isolated and emotionally drained. As a late diagnosed ADHD’er, trying to to have it all together while struggling through CPTSD and insecure attachment, I get how hard it can be to show up every day for yourself and for your relationships.

I help clients untangle the pain beneath the surface so they can heal, reconnect, and start moving forward with clarity and confidence. I draw on EMDR, attachment theory, and Gottman methods to help you understand not just what's happening, but why — and what to do differently. If any of this resonates, I'd love to connect!

Frequently asked questions

  • You don’t have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. If you’re feeling stuck or overwhelmed, finding yourself in the same arguments, or just not quite feeling like yourself then therapy is right for you. If you’re debating it, that’s a pretty good sign it’s time to try it

  • The first session is really just a chance for us to get to know each other. You'll share a little about what's been going on, what brought you in, and what you're hoping to get out of therapy. I'll ask some questions, tell you how I work, and we'll figure out together if we're a good fit. There's no pressure to have everything figured out before you walk in — you can show up exactly as you are.

  • That's actually really common, and I hear it a lot. Therapy not working usually comes down to one of two things: either the fit with the therapist wasn't right, or the approach wasn't matched to what you actually needed. At Better Connections, I use evidence-based methods like EMDR and Gottman informed couples work, not just open-ended conversation. If therapy has felt like talking in circles before, this will feel different.

  • In individual therapy, we're focused entirely on you — your patterns, your history, your growth. In couples therapy, the relationship itself is what we're working on. That means we look at the dynamic between you, the cycles you keep getting stuck in, and how you each show up for one another. Both are powerful, but they serve different goals. Some people do both at the same time, and that can be incredibly effective.

  • Yes — I offer virtual therapy for anyone in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Online sessions work just as well as in-person for most people, and honestly, a lot of clients prefer the flexibility. You can show up from your couch, your car, wherever feels comfortable. If you're in the Philadelphia area and prefer to come in, our Northern Liberties office is available for in-person sessions too. Either way, you get the same quality of care.
