Intensive therapy in phildelphia
for when weekly sessions aren’t enough
Some things can't wait for next Tuesday's appointment. If you're in crisis, if your relationship is at a breaking point, if you've been carrying something for years and you're finally ready to deal with it all at once weekly therapy can feel impossibly slow. Intensive therapy was built for exactly that moment. Intensive therapy may be the breakthrough you need. These 2- or 3-day deep-dive sessions offer 5 hours of therapy per day, designed to help you move further, faster.
Intensive Weekends are made for those who:
Feel stuck in patterns that aren’t shifting with weekly sessions
Are facing a crisis and need support now—not months from now
Have limited availability and need therapy to fit your schedule
Are ready to dig deep and heal with momentum and clarity
With a weekend intensive, you can start taking bigger steps towards the kind of healing and growth you’ve been waiting for.
What is intensive therapy?
Intensive Therapy is a concentrated format that replaces 50-minute sessions with multiple hours of focused therapeutic work over the course of a weekend. Rather than spending weeks or even months slowly building momentum, an intensive allot you to go deep quickly. You’ll be able to process what’s blocking you, address the pressing matters at hand, and leave with real clarity and tools for lasting change. It’s therapy designed for individuals, couples, or families who are ready to prioritize their healing and want results that match the commitment.
Who Intensive therapy is for
Couples intensive therapy
A couples intensive isn't giving up on weekly therapy. It's choosing to stop letting the damage accumulate while you wait for the next hour. Whether you’re:
Constantly fighting and unable to get unstuck
Reeling from betrayal or infidelity and unsure how to rebuild
On the verge of breaking up—or want to prevent a breakup
Struggling with long-distance, co-parenting, or major transitions
A Couples Intensive gives you the time and space to repair, reconnect, and rediscover your relationship’s foundation. We use evidence-based approaches including Gottman Method therapy to help you understand each other more deeply, break out of negative cycles, and rebuild the connection that brought you together.
Individual Intensive Therapy
Sometimes you just need more than 50 minutes a week to get somewhere real. An individual intensive gives you the room to actually finish a thought and a chapter. You might be:
Struggling with the weight of past trauma that won’t let go
Feeling stuck in anxiety, grief, or self-doubt
Tired of making progress only to feel pulled backward again
Ready to face something big but don’t want to drag it out over months
Individual Intensives often incorporate EMDR therapy, which is particularly effective for trauma, anxiety, depression, and reoccurring negative patterns. EMDR allows us to process different memories and experiences at a neurological level so you’re to just talking about what happened, you’re actually moving through it to heal it.
family intensive therapy
Family intensives work because they get everyone in the room long enough to move past the surface. One concentrated weekend can do what months of weekly sessions sometimes can't. If your family is:
Dealing with ongoing conflict or miscommunication
Navigating big changes like divorce, launching adult children, or caring for aging parents
Walking on eggshells, avoiding hard conversations, or feeling emotionally shut down
Struggling to connect across generations
A Family Intensive creates a structured space where every member feels heard rather than ganged up on or silenced. With this approach, no one family member is made to be the problem, instead you’ll examine dynamics that harm your communication and connection so you can work towards healing as a team.
WHat To expect in intensive therapy
Intake
Day One begins with 1.5-2 hours of intake where your therapist learns more about you, your relationship, or your family dynamic, as well as your goals for the Intensive. We use this time to make sure we're going in with a real plan, not just winging it. You deserve better than that
One on Ones
If you are coming as a couple or family, your therapist will conduct breakout sessions with each person to gain information on each person’s unique history. Understanding where each person comes from changes everything about how we work together
Feedback
At the end of Day One you will be presented with feedback and collaborate with your therapist about the best way to structure your additional days. This is where the intensive starts to feel different. You'll leave Day One with a real map, not just impressions
Therapy
Day Two and Three dive into your therapeutic experience. You will given the space to work towards your goals and practice new skills, and leave with the tools you need to keep building on the progress you made. This is the work. And it's a lot — in the best possible way.
